February 15, 2017, container #CAXU 8078816, seal #0720045, Nigeria, Africa.  This container load took several months to be approved for shipment due to stringent documentation requirements by the Government of Nigeria.  The shipment went out under the auspices of the Obodoukwu Union of North America (OUNA) of Torrance CA to the Nzuko Obodoukwu Clan – its affiliate in Nigeria.  Contents included a plethora of valuable medical-surgical supplies, which complemented the primary load of hospital equipment including beds and mattresses, stretchers, examination tables, office furniture, an infant incubator, a surgical procedure chair, waiting room chair systems, etc.

Nigeria, an African country on the Gulf of Guinea, has many natural landmarks and wildlife reserves. Protected areas such as Cross River National Park and Yankari National Park have waterfalls, dense rainforest, savanna and rare primate habitats. One of the most recognizable sites is Zuma Rock, a 725m-tall monolith outside the capital of Abuja that’s pictured on the national currency.

Container shipped to Ghana, Africa for Equity Healthcare Center in Accra

January 30, 2017, container #EMCU 9557381, seal #0720043, Ghana, Africa.  This container was directed through the Ministry of Health for Ghana to the Equity Healthcare Center in Accra, Ghana.  The shipment was coordinated by Dr. Kwaku Amexo, a physician at the Brandywine Hospital who was born in Ghana and studied medicine in Russia. He now lives in Exton, PA and frequently visits the new Mission Relief Services warehouse in Parkesburg.  Ghana is the size of Oregon with 30 million people.

Container shipped to Cameroon, Africa for Mpuma Mwet Medical Center

December 30, 2016, container #TCLU 9324436, seal #0720041, Cameroon, Africa.  Roots to Glory Tours of Stevenson MD coordinated this final container shipment of the year to the Mpuma Nwet Medical Center in Kribi, Cameroon.  Major pieces of equipment included in this shipment were 11 hospital beds, a chemistry analyzer, 4 patient recliner chairs, an infant incubator, an infant radiant warmer, 7 examination tables and a host of other critical hospital furnishings and supplies.




Kribi is a beach resort and sea port in Cameroon. The coastal town of Kribi lies on the Gulf of Guinea, in Océan Department, South Province, at the mouth of the Kienké River. This location, lies approximately 150 kilometres, by road, south of Douala, the largest city in Cameroon and the busiest seaport in the country.

December 15, 2016, container #DFSU 7754773, seal #0720042, Mali, Africa.  Seal of Hope developed this valuable container load of assorted pieces of hospital equipment and 8 pallets of medical-surgical supplies for its associates in Bamako, Mali.


Bamako is the capital and largest city of Mali, with a population of 1.8 million. In 2006, it was estimated to be the fastest growing city in Africa and sixth-fastest in the world. It is located on the Niger River, near the rapids that divide the upper and middle Niger valleys in the southwestern part of the country.

Container shipped to Haiti for Partners in Health in Boston

November 22, 2016, container #TCLU 6578118, seal #0720040, Haiti.  A second container load this month for Boston-based Partners in Health was shipped to Zanmi Lasante, its affiliate in Port au Prince, Haiti.  Another 197 cases of disposable surgical masks, 18 hospital beds, 30+ hospital bed mattresses, 24 bedside tables and a plethora of other medical-surgical equipment were included.  Zanmi Lasante is the largest non-government healthcare provider in Haiti.

ZanmiLasante is a sister organization to the Boston-based Partners InMap of Port-au-Prince Haiti Health that operates out of Cange in central Haiti. The name, ZanmiLasante, means Partners In Health in Haitian Creole. It was built in 1985 to treat patients who were incapable of paying hospital fees.

November 14, 2016, container #TCLU 5297820, seal #0720039, Ghana, Africa.  Ghanaian expatriate Akosua Joyce Oppong coordinated this shipment for her medical associates in Accra, Ghana.  Hospital beds, mattresses, examination tables, an incubator, an infant radiant warmer and a host of other valuable medical-surgical equipment/supplies filled up this container.

November 7, 2016, container #CMAU 4584144, seal #0720038, Haiti.  Mission Relief Services was able to provide 429 cases of disposable surgical masks, an assortment of office furniture, hospital bed mattresses, 135 oak cafeteria dining chairs and 28 matching dining tables in this container.  Partners in Health of Boston MA sponsored this shipment to Zanmi Lasante, its sister organization that operates out of Cange in the central plateau of Haiti.


Container sent to Keyna for Child Aid Africa

October 26, 2016, an 18-foot box truck was loaded with hospital beds, mattresses, IV poles, crutches, electric wheelchairs and a variety of valuable medical-surgical supplies.  The truck shipment was sponsored by Child Aid Africa, Inc., for consolidation and forwarding to its affiliates in Kenya, East Africa.
